Pathology Consultants of America, d/b/a Opus Pathology has been in operation since 1960, when it was initially founded as an independent pathology laboratory in Tennessee. Opus is the dominant independent pathology physicians group in Nashville MSA market. Opus’ Top two clients are Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Maury Regional Health Center, two of the oldest and largest independent health systems in the Nashville MSA market.
The laboratory is physician owned and operated which means that they understand the needs of our physician clients and the evolving health care world. Their pathologists have over 100 combined years of experience in providing anatomic and clinical pathology services. The pathologists’ expertise covers all aspects of anatomic and clinical pathology. The pathologists are partners with our hospitals and are actively involved in the medical staff. Opus Pathology maintains managed care contract coverage with all major payors.
The site is two blocks from Maury Regional Medical Center. Maury Regional Medical in Columbia serves as the flagship hospital for the system. Founded in 1953, the facility has grown to include 255 beds and a growing medical staff of more than 500 providers across 60+ specialties. The facility has been compared to some of the most prestigious medical centers in the nation and has consistently been recognized for performance on publicly reported quality measures.
Columbia, Tennessee is centrally located just south of Nashville along the I-65 corridor.
